What are we looking for?

Much of our growth has come from consultancy, training, support and more complex services engagements with new and existing customers. This has allowed us to build up a strong consultancy and services team and make the necessary investments such as our Technology Innovation Centre.
Because of this growth in services work, we therefore want to recruit additional technical consultants who can join our Origina Service Delivery Team to expand our overall services business.

What qualities are we looking for?

Ideally the successful candidate will be currently employed in a similar customer facing support role.
The successful candidate will be delivering a world class technical support service. They will need to have a strong focus on attention to detail, sense of pride in their delivered work, very ambitious, high personal drive and energy, creative when it comes to managing calls or engaged in troubleshooting tasks and not be afraid to take on new challenges.

A strong interest in new computer technology and aptitude to quickly understand new technical concepts and technologies is important for the role. The candidate must also possess excellent communication skills, both spoken and written. Previous presentation experience would be advantageous, but not essential. A strong team player who is able to work effectively within the team and also as an individual will be a key to being successful in the role.

What your Roles & Responsibilities will be as an Enterprise Support Specialist:

• Provide world-class trouble shooting and maintenance for: key enterprise business applications (TSM, MS Exchange, SharePoint, Platespin, CommVault etc.) and their underlying operating systems (Unix, Windows Srv, Linux, etc) enterprise servers and storage systems (SAN and Tape libraries), VMware products (ESX, VirtualCentre), Hyper-V.
• Build up knowledge of our business partner’s technical product line and service offerings, along with future industry products and technologies.
• Ensure customer satisfaction when handling an incident – actively supporting the customer and keeping them up to date though-out an incident lifecycle.
• Ensure that all service level agreements between Origina and their customers are adhered to when managing multiple incidents.
• Contribute to the growth of the support division. New ideas and forward thinking are always encouraged.
• Actively learn and develop individual technical skills and abilities with the support of the senior technical team and external and internal training.

Required Skills:

• Past experience in delivering technical support is a distinct advantage
• Fluent English Speaker
• Must possess excellent problem analysis & troubleshooting skills
• Excellent personal presentation, writing and interpersonal skills
• Educated to Diploma or Degree level on a technical subject
• IT Certification desirable i.e. MCSE, VCP, CCNA, CATE etc
• Being technically proficient and knowledgeable in a broad range of technology areas is key, preferably with any of the following technologies:

- VMware, ESX, VMotion, P2V
- Hyper-V
- Platespin PowerRecon, PowerConvert
- IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, HP-UX
- Microsoft Windows Server, Linux (Red Hat AS, SUSE, Debian)
- HACMP / Veritas / Microsoft Clustering
- Tivoli Storage Manager / Veritas NetBackup / CommVault
- Storage Area Networks (Disk, Tape & Virtualisation)
- Oracle
- Citrix / Wyse Thin Client Solutions
- Cisco / 3COM Networking (Routers, Firewalls, Switches etc)
(Note: The above technical skills are merely a “wish list”, and demonstrate the range of technology areas covered by the company. The successful candidate can expect to gain experience with most, if not all, of the above technology areas during their employment as Technical Consultant with the company)
